Objetivos: descrever a percepção das mulheres transexuais acerca do acesso e tratamento no processo transexualizador e discutir a visão das mesmas em relação à patologização e medicalização. Método: pesquisa descritiva, qualitativa, com 40 mulheres transexuais, realizada entre dezembro de 2016 e abril de 2017, utilizando entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo. Projeto aprovado no Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, CAAE 64975517.9.0000.5266. Resultados: Emergiu a categoria: Identidades, despatologização e desmedicalização: interfaces e dissidências da autonomia da mulher transexual, com subtema: Medicalização identitária: entrave ou garantia do direito trans? A visão patologizada e medicalizada predomina na assistência às mulheres transexuais. Elas vivenciam a dominação médica e não participam das decisões sobre o tempo cirúrgico e demais elementos do tratamento. Conclusão: as mulheres transexuais não entendem a transexualidade como patologia. Percebem a visão patológica do profissional como algo naturalizado e se submetem a essa condição para ter acesso ao processo transexualizador.
ABSTRACT
Objectives: to describe the transsexual women’s perception about access and treatment in the process of transsexualization, and to discuss their vision regarding pathologization and medicalization. Method: descriptive, qualitative research with 40 transsexual women, performed between December 2016 and April 2017, using semi-structured interviews. Data were submitted to content analysis. The Research Ethics Committee approved the project (CAAE 64975517.9.0000.5266). Results: a category emerged Identities, depathologization and demedicalization - interfaces and dissidences of the autonomy of transsexual women, with subtheme: Medicalization of identity: hindrance or guarantee of transsexual rights? The pathologized and medicalized view predominate in the assistance to transsexual women. They experience medical domination and do not participate in decisions about surgical time and other elements of treatment. Conclusion: transsexual women do not understand transsexuality as pathology. However, they perceive the pathological view of the professional as something naturalized and submit themselves to this condition in order to get access to the process of transexualization.

Objetivos: describir la percepción de mujeres transexuales sobre el acceso y el tratamiento en el proceso de transexualizador y discutir su visión con respecto a la patologización y la medicalización. Método: investigación descriptiva, cualitativa con 40 mujeres transexuales, realizada entre diciembre de 2016 y abril de 2017, mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas. Se utilizó el análisis de contenido. El Comité de Ética en Investigación aprobó el proyecto (CAAE 64975517.9.0000.5266). Resultados: surgió una categoría Identidades, despatologización y desmedicalización - interfaces y disidencias de la autonomía de mujeres transexuales, con el subtema Medicalización de la identidad: ¿obstáculo o garantía de los derechos transexuales? La visión patologizada y medicalizada predomina en la asistencia a mujeres transexuales. Experimentan dominación médica y no participan en las decisiones sobre el tiempo quirúrgico y otros elementos del tratamiento. Conclusión: las mujeres transexuales no entienden la transexualidad como patología. Sin embargo, perciben la visión patológica del profesional como algo naturalizado y se someten a esta condición para acceder al proceso transexualizador.
