Resultados: identificadas três dimensões do conhecimento: autoavaliação, técnico-científico e competências e habilidades, e 26 variáveis a elas relacionadas.
ABSTRACT
Objective: to analyze variables that are important to building nurses’ knowledge of neoplastic wound odor control. Method: this integrative review, conducted in 2016, in Nursing Database, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences database, Spanish Bibliographic Index in Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System online and the Cochrane Library, selected 19 articles published on the subject from 2002 to 2015. Results: three knowledge dimensions were identified: self-assessment, scientific and technical knowledge, competences and abilities, and 26 variables related to them. Technical and scientific knowledge was more highly valued, as reflected by the higher number of variables cited. Conclusion: the results may contribute to improving nurses’ understanding of the necessary requisites for building and refining knowledge about controlling this symptom which is challenging to health personnel and patients, and will benefit managers and researchers in building performance evaluation tools.
