Ritmos cardíacos à beira do leito: conhecimento da equipe de enfermagem de unidade cardiológica [Heart rhythms at the bedside: cardiology unit nursing team’s knowledge]

Objetivo: analisar o conhecimento da equipe de enfermagem de unidade cardiológica sobre alterações do ritmo cardíaco. Método: estudo qualitativo descritivo realizado com 17 profissionais de enfermagem de uma unidade cardiológica de hospital universitário de Curitiba-PR, de julho a dezembro de 2014. Os dados foram coletados por entrevista semiestruturada e tratados segundo a análise de conteúdo. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, protocolo nº 34720014.1.0000.0096. Resultados: foi deficiente o reconhecimento dos ritmos cardíacos no monitor cardiógrafo pelos profissionais de nível médio; os participantes destacaram as condutas frente a alterações eletrocardiográficas e a importância do conhecimento sobre o assunto; informaram a existência de déficit na formação profissional. Conclusão: constatou-se que os participantes de nível técnico apresentam conhecimento insuficiente sobre alterações no ritmo cardíaco na prática assistencial, devido ao déficit em sua formação profissional.
ABSTRACT
Objective: to examine the cardiology unit nursing team’s knowledge of cardiac rhythm disorders. Methods: in this qualitative, descriptive study of 17 nurses of a cardiology unit of a university hospital in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, data were collected from July to December 2014, by semi-structured interviews, and analyzed by content analysis. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (protocol No. 34720014.1.0000.0096). Results: nursing technicians’ recognition of cardiac rhythms displayed on the cardiograph monitor was deficient; the participants cited actions in response to electrocardiographic alterations and the importance of knowledge on the subject; and they reported deficient professional training. Conclusion: nursing technicians’ knowledge about changes in cardiac rhythm in the care context was found to be insufficient as a result of deficient professional training.
RESUMEN
Objetivo: analizar el conocimiento del equipo de enfermería de una unidad de cardiología acerca de los cambios en el ritmo cardíaco. Método: estudio cualitativo descriptivo realizado junto a 17 profesionales de enfermería de una unidad de cardiología del hospital universitario de Curitiba-PR, de julio a diciembre de 2014. Los datos fueron recolectados mediante entrevista semiestructurada y tratados por medio de análisis de contenido. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación, Protocolo nº 34720014.1.0000.0096. Resultados: fue deficiente el reconocimiento de la frecuencia cardíaca en el monitor cardíaco por los profesionales de nivel medio; los participantes resaltaron las conductas ante alteraciones electrocardiográficas y la importancia del conocimiento acerca del tema; informaron haber déficit en la formación profesional. Conclusión: se constató que los participantes del nivel técnico muestran conocimiento insuficiente en cuanto al reconocimiento de alteraciones en el ritmo cardíaco en la práctica asistencial, debido al déficit en su formación profesional.
