A relação entre sexo, identidades sexual e de gênero no campo da saúde da mulher [Sex, gender, and sexual identities in women’s health]

RESUMO: Trata-se de um estudo de reflexão teórica acerca da relação entre o sexo do corpo, a identidade sexual e a identidade de gênero, considerando o cotidiano da prática profissional de enfermeiras e médicos no campo da saúde da mulher. O estudo apresenta as conexões estabelecidas entre conceitos como corpo, gênero, identidade, sexualidade e seus efeitos na categorização das pessoas e na atenção à saúde da mulher lésbica. Pretende-se instigar a reflexão individual e coletiva, por parte dos profissionais de saúde e, em especial, de enfermeiras, sobre a multiplicidade de expressões de gênero e de sexualidade. É reconhecido que a reflexão é estruturante para transformar as mentalidades e as práticas de atenção à saúde, contribuindo para a qualidade da atenção à saúde das lésbicas, a partir da construção de uma relação respeitosa que proporcione a estas mulheres o ambiente terapêutico necessário à manifestação de suas reais e singulares necessidades de saúde.
ABSTRACT: This is a theoretical study on the relation between sex, sexual identity, and gender identity, considering the daily professional practice of nurses and doctors in the field of women’s health. The study shows conceptual connections between body, gender, identity, sexuality, and their effects on the categorization of people and health care for the lesbian. It aims at fostering individual and collective reflection among health professionals, in general, and nurses, in particular, on the multiplicity of expressions of gender and sexuality. Reflection is identified as structuring to transforming attitudes and practices in health care and to ensuring higher quality care for lesbians. A respectful relationship builds up the therapeutic environment necessary for expression of those women’s real and unique health needs.
RESUMEN: Se trata de un estudio teórico sobre la relación entre el sexo del cuerpo, la identidad sexual y la identidad de género, teniendo en cuenta la práctica profesional diaria de las enfermeras y los médicos en el campo de la salud de la mujer. El estudio muestra las conexiones entre los conceptos como cuerpo, género, identidad, sexualidad y sus efectos en la categorización de las personas y el cuidado de la salud para la comunidad lésbica. Su objetivo es instigar a la reflexión individual y colectiva por parte de los profesionales de la salud, en particular a las enfermeras acerca de la multiplicidad de expresiones de género y sexualidad. Se reconoce que la reflexión está estructurando para transformar las actitudes y las prácticas de atención de la salud, contribuyendo para la calidad para la atención de salud para la comunidad de lesbianas, desde la construcción de una relación de respeto que propicie a estas mujeres el ambiente terapéutico necesario para la expresión de sus necesidades de salud reales y única.
