Objetivo: analisar a acessibilidade de pessoas com deficiência visual nos serviços de saúde. Método: pesquisa descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa, realizada com 24 indivíduos com deficiência visual, usuários de uma instituição no município de João Pessoa-PB, no período de outubro a novembro de 2013. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevista semiestruturada gravada e analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo. Resultados: evidenciou-se que as pessoas com deficiência visual vivenciam diversas dificuldades no acesso aos serviços de saúde, que vão desde o deslocamento ao serviço até a comunicação com os profissionais de saúde, infringindo os preceitos da acessibilidade e interferindo na qualidade da assistência à saúde a essas pessoas. Conclusão: é preciso que aconteça a difusão do conhecimento dessas barreiras, para a conscientização da sociedade acerca dos reais problemas gerados pela falta de acessibilidade para a pessoa com deficiência visual.
ABSTRACT
Objective: to examine health service accessibility for the visually impaired. Method: this qualitative, descriptive study was conducted with 24 visually impaired users of an institution in the city of João Pessoa, Pernambuco, from October to November 2013. Data were collected by recorded, semi-structured interview, and treated by content analysis. Results: the evidence was that people with visual disabilities experience a variety of difficulties in accessing health services, ranging from travel to the service through to communicating with health personnel, in breach of the principle of accessibility and undermining the quality of health care for these people. Conclusion: these barriers must be made more widely known, so as to build to awareness in society of the real problems caused by lack of accessibility for the visually impaired.
RESUMEN
Objetivo: analizar la accesibilidad de las personas con discapacidad visual a los servicios de salud. Método: estudio descriptivo con enfoque cualitativo, realizado junto a 24 personas con discapacidad visual, usuarios de una institución en la ciudad de João Pessoa, Paraíba, en el período octubre a noviembre 2013. Los datos fueron recolectados por medio de entrevista semiestructurada grabada y analizados por análisis de contenido. Resultados: era evidente que las personas con discapacidad visual experimentan muchas dificultades en el acceso a los servicios de salud, desde el desplazamiento al servicio a la comunicación con los profesionales de salud, lo que viola los preceptos de accesibilidad e interfiere en la calidad de la atención de salud a esas personas. Conclusión: es necesario que suceda la difusión del conocimiento de estas barreras para concienciar la sociedad acerca de los problemas reales causados por la falta de accesibilidad para la persona con discapacidad visual.
