Absenteísmo por doença na equipe de enfermagem de uma operadora de plano de saúde [Sickness absenteeism of nursing team in a health insurance company]

RESUMO: O absenteísmo-doença configura importante comprometedor dos índices de rendimento e qualidade dos serviços, havendo carência de estudos na enfermagem. Estudo de natureza quantitativa, descritivo, retrospectivo, que analisou o absenteísmo-doença na equipe de enfermagem de uma operadora de planos de saúde do interior de São Paulo. Os dados secundários coletados dos atestados médicos, referentes ao ano de 2007, foram analisados segundo as variáveis: sexo, unidade de atuação, categoria profissional, afastamentos e respectivas causas, conforme a Classificação Internacional de Doenças. A maioria dos 98 profissionais afastados era do sexo feminino, pertencente à unidade hospitalar e geraram 172 afastamentos, com uma média de 1,76 por profissional, decorrentes de doenças do aparelho respiratório. A média de dias perdidos de trabalho foi 5,39, sendo maior entre técnicos de enfermagem da unidade de pronto atendimento. O absenteísmo afeta a dinâmica organizacional, ambiente de trabalho e a assistência, exigindo reconhecimento das causas para priorização de estratégias de intervenção.
ABSTRACT: Although sickness absenteeism compromises healthcare quality and efficiency of services, there are few studies in nursing about it. This is a quantitative descriptive and retrospective study that analyzed sickness absenteeism in the nursing team of a health insurance company located in the backlands of the São Paulo State, Brazil. Secondary data collected from medical statements as of 2007 were analyzed according to the following categories: gender, work unit, professional category, sick leaves and their respective causes according the International Classification of Diseases. Most of 98 workers on a leave were females, from the hospital unit, and generated 172 sick leaves on an average of 1.76 due to respiratory system diseases. Absenteeism average was 5.39, being higher among nursing technicians from the emergency care unit. Absenteeism affects organization dynamics, work environment, and healthcare assistance, and requires identification of causes for enabling setting up priority intervention strategies.
RESUMEN: El absentismo por enfermedad configura un comprometedor importante de los índices de rendimiento y calidad de los servicios, habiendo carencia de estudios enfermería. Estudio de carácter cuantitativo, descriptivo, retrospectivo, que examinó el absentismo enfermedad en el equipo de enfermería de una compañía de seguros de salud en el Estado de São Paulo-Brasil. Se analizaron los datos secundarios recogidos de los certificados médicos, en 2007, según las variables: sexo, unidad de actuación, categoría profesional, salidas y sus causas, según la Clasificación Internacional de Enfermedades. La mayoría de los 98 profesionales alejados era del sexo femenino, perteneciente a la unidad hospitalaria y generaron 172 alejamientos, con una media por profesional de 1,76, por consecuencias de enfermedades del aparato respiratorio. El número de días de trabajo perdidos fue 5,39, siendo mayor entre técnicos de enfermería de la unidad de pronto atendimiento. El absentismo afecta la dinámica organizacional, ambiente de trabajo y asistencia, exigiendo el reconocimiento de las causas para la priorización de estrategias de intervención.
