Entraves para a implementação de programas assistenciais dirigidos ao público masculino: visão de profissionais de saúde [Barriers to implementing health care programs for male publics: health professionals’ views]

Estudo exploratório e descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, cujo objetivo foi identificar obstáculos para a inserção de programas assistenciais voltados para o público masculino na atenção primária à saúde. Participaram da pesquisa 16 profissionais de saúde, entre médicos e enfermeiros, atuantes em unidades básicas de saúde, do município de Natal-RN, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados entre julho e agosto de 2011, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. Os depoimentos foram trabalhados de acordo com a análise da enunciação, proposta por Bardin. Os resultados revelaram como principais entraves para inserção de programas assistenciais voltados para os homens as concepções de gênero arraigadas socialmente, bem como o modo de organização dos serviços de atenção primária. Constatou-se a relevância de sensibilizar os profissionais no intuito de adotarem uma postura proativa frente às necessidades dos homens adstritos em suas áreas de atuação.
ABSTRACT: This exploratory, descriptive study aimed to identify barriers to the introduction of specific health programs for the male public in primary health care. The participants were 16 doctors and nurses working in primary health facilities in the city of Natal, Brazil. Data were collected in July and August 2011 through semi-structured interview, and treated according to the enunciation analysis proposed by Bardin. The results revealed that the main barriers to inclusion of male-specific health programs are gender conceptions in society and how primary care services are organized. It is important to sensitize health personnel to take a proactive attitude to the needs of men in their respective areas.
RESUMEN: Estudio cualitativo, exploratorio y descriptivo, cuyo objetivo fue identificar los obstáculos a la inserción de programas de salud dirigidos a la población masculina en atención primaria. Los participantes fueron 16 trabajadores de la salud, incluyendo médicos y enfermeras que trabajan en las unidades de atención primaria de salud en la ciudad de Natal-RN, Brasil. Los datos fueron recolectados entre julio y agosto de 2011 a través de entrevista semiestructurada. Las declaraciones fueron trabajadas de acuerdo con el análisis de la enunciación, propuesto por Bardin. Los resultados revelaron que las concepciones de género en la sociedad y cómo la organización de los servicios de atención primaria son las principales barreras a la inserción de los programas de salud para homens. Se constató la pertinencia de la sensibilización de los profesionales para que adopten una actitud proactiva delante de las necesidades de los hombres en sus áreas de actuación.
