Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar os cuidados com a higiene corporal e roupas do recém-nascido, no século XIX. Os documentos utilizados para análise foram as teses da Faculdade de Medicina do Rio de Janeiro que tratassem da temática. A proposta de análise seguiu a abordagem da microanálise. O resultado evidenciou o discurso médico no sentido de introjetar mudança na cultura da higiene praticada por comadres, avós, amas-de-leite e outras, visando institucionalizar suas próprias regras e orientações para disciplinar as mães sobre os cuidados em referência.
ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine with care the human body and clothes of the newborn, in the nineteenth century. The documents used for analysis were the theses of the Faculty of Medicine of Rio de Janeiro that addressed the issue. The proposed analysis followed the approach of microanalysis. The result of the medical documents showed towards internalize the practice of care change in the culture of hygiene practices by gossips, grandparents, wet-milk and others aimed to institutionalize its own rules and guidelines for disciplining mothers about care for reference.
RESUMEN
Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar los cuidados con la higiene corporal y las ropas del recién nacido, en el siglo XIX. Los documentos utilizados para el análisis fueron las tesis de la Facultad de Medicina de Río de Janeiro, sobre el tema. El análisis propuesto sigue el enfoque de microanálisis. El resultado mostró el discurso médico en el sentido de interiorizar cambio en la cultura de higiene practicada por comadres, abuelas, amas de leche y otras, mirando institucionalizar sus propias reglas y directrices para disciplinar a las madres sobre el cuidado en referencia.
