FORMATTING
All manuscripts should be between 15 and 30 pages long, in Word for Windows (doc, docx or rtf).
Manuscripts should be in A4 paper format, with 3cm margins (lower, upper, right and left), in Times New Roman , size 12, 1.5 spacing, with a 1.25 indentation in the first line of each paragraph, and justified alignment.
In accordance to international standards and the Qualis system, manuscripts must include an abstract (up to 250 words or 1500 characters, without spaces) in Portuguese and one foreign language (English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Galician, as the case may be) and between 3 and 6 Keywords (in Portuguese and in the foreign language of the abstract), with capital initials separated by a semi-colon.
Submission title must be centered, typed in UPPER CASE, size 14 and in bold. Italics should only be used titles of books mentioned in the title of the submission.
The author(s)’s name(s) should be informed in separate document(s), in Word for Windows (doc, docx or rtf), in A4 paper format, with 3cm margins (lower, upper, right and left), in Times New Roman , size 12, in one single-spaced paragraph with no indentation in the first line. The text should be written as a single paragraph, its information uniformly distributed in sentences which should include the following data: (1st) academic title (only the highest title); (2nd) institutional affiliation (only university or college abbreviation, without information on academic unit, followed by mention of the campus, when necessary) and links to development agencies (when applicable); (3rd) academic level of teaching activities (Doctorate, Master’s or Undergraduate degree) and scientific areas or specialties (when relevant); (4th) most relevant bibliographical production (3 titles at most); (5th) participation in research groups and research or study centers (when relevant); (6th) prizes and distinctions related to research area; (7th) research areas of interest (5 at most); (8th) access link to Lattes CV (when available); (9th) access link to personal site (when available); (10th) email address.
Titles of sections (if any) should be typed in UPPER CASE and in bold, similar to that of the text, in font size 12, with 1,5 spacing, no indentation in the first line and aligned to the left.
Subsection titles (if any) should be typed as a common sentence: capital initial and the rest in lower case, except for names, which must typed with upper case initials, with 1,5 spacing, with no indentation in the first line and aligned to the left.
Three-line (or shorter) quotations should be inserted in the text (in a text paragraph) between double quotation marks, in normal type (no italics), size 12. At the end of the quotation, there should appear, between round brackets, the author’s surname, the year and the page(s) of the publication.

Notice that quotation marks in the original text quoted (with three lines at most) should be converted to single inverted (and not “double”) comas.
Quotations that are longer than three lines should be placed in a free-standing block of text, indented 4cm from the left and with no indentation in the first line; use single spacing, font size 10, and no quotation marks. Reference to the source should appear in the same way as in quotations with no more than three lines, between round brackets placed after the punctuation mark.
Words, expressions and passages from the original text that are underlined, in bold type or in italics, should be kept that way in the quotation.
If the author of the manuscript chooses to highlight words, expressions or passages of the quoted fragment, this should be indicated when making reference to the source.

When the author’s name or surname is mentioned before the quotation, it should not be repeated after the quoted passage. Only the year and the page of the original passage should appear between round brackets.

Never use idem, ibidem or op.cit.
The Latin expression apud should be typed in italics.
Object-words or expressions, when mentioned, should be typed in italics. The same applies to foreign words of any origin.
In the section REFERENCES, at the end of the manuscript, every source cited in the text (and only these) should be listed in alphabetical order by the authors’ surname.
In subsequent references to works by the same author, his/her name should be substituted with 6 underline traces followed by date between parentheses.

- Never abbreviate the name(s) of the author(s) to avoid confusion between people with the same surname(s) and facilitate research on referenced works.
- Only indicate the name(s) of the translator(s) if this information is essential for the submitted article.

Remember:
Adequate webgraphic citation, including link (digital address) and date of access.
Avoid footnotes. These should only be used for comments which may prove indispensable to the development of the exposition, never for bibliographical references.
ILUSTRATIONS
If any, they should be indicated in the text, but placed as numbered annexes according to their respective order in the text. Ex: Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.
Image files should have a 300 dpi resolution.
Every illustration should be identifiable by a title.
Whenever illustrations by external authors are used, authorship credits should be included in a footnote.
If charts or diagrams are used, they should follow a simple pattern. They should also be numbered and followed by an explanatory TITLE in Times New Roman, font size 10, bold type in a single-spaced paragraph, with no indentation in the first line and centered alignment.
When used, ABBREVIATIONS should be explained in a table.
Do not leave any blank paragraphs, that is, with no printable characters.
Do not leave blank spaces in the text (by pressing the spacebar) without any printable characters, with the exception of a single space (by pressing the spacebar only once) between words or between a punctuation mark and the next word.
Do not leave any blank spaces (by pressing the spacebar) at the end of paragraphs, without any printable characters, except for the 1,25 indentation in the first line of the paragraph, when it is not the case of a paragraph in quotation.
Do not number pages.
Do not insert any header or footer.
