This study, in the context of participatory action research carried out with the sixth year of elementary school at a public school in Porto Alegre/RS, with decolonial and intercultural political-pedagogical intention in Physical Education classes, aims to analyze and discuss the powers of teaching and learning with and through art at school through the peripheral artistic and cultural manifestation of Slam. To this end, it discusses the events of the integrative morning of the Black Consciousness Gymkhana at the Abya Yala School that enabled the school community, especially the students and teachers, to both address the issue of structural racism and experience the body at the center of the educational process through the artistic and cultural manifestation of Slam. We understand, from this work, that despite the processes of coloniality in education significantly interfering with the subjects in order to silence the know-how produced from corporeality, the artistic experience with Slam at school showed that it is possible (and powerful) to teach and learn with and from bodies enchanted by the desire for presence, involved with the sensitive, aesthetic and affective dimension of the lived world, and which are involved in reflexivity, circularity and reversibility of meanings.
