This article investigates the incorporation of Open Science principles in scientific journals in the field of Education in Brazil, with a special focus on open peer review practices. The main objective was to map and analyze the adoption of these guidelines in journals indexed on the SciELO platform, using an exploratory and descriptive approach. A systematic data collection methodology was employed through document analysis of journal websites and editorial policies. The theoretical framework is based on authors who discuss scientific communication and Open Science, such as Ross-Hellauer (2017), Pinheiro (2014), and Maia & Farias (2021). The results reveal strong adherence to practices such as continuous publication, open licenses, and the acceptance of preprints. However, limitations were identified in the adoption of innovations such as open peer review, the use of artificial intelligence, and accessibility measures. The study concludes that, despite some progress, consolidating an open scientific culture in the Education field still faces significant challenges, requiring stronger institutional policies and investments in technical training and editorial ethics.
