Abstract

This article compiles the experiences of the social action project called (De)Construyendo, created within the framework of the Iniciativas Estudiantiles of the University of Costa Rica, which correspond to projects designed and implemented by students. The project was created with the aim of providing horizontal spaces with adolescents to address issues related to human rights, women's rights and gender non-conforming identities and sexual and reproductive rights from a critical, feminist and decolonial approach. The project worked methodologically with Popular Education, positioning a political intentionality of recognising adolescents as bearers of knowledge and experiences of resistance to various manifestations of patriarchal violence. Through the development of the project, it was found that the participants problematise the manifestations of violence that they see around them and that they express the need for safe spaces where their concerns and gaps in information can be addressed. The article describes the project's trajectory and seeks to make visible feminist education initiatives developed outside the institutionalised education system, promoting work with adolescents on issues that concern them and that cut across their life experiences.
