Abstract

No artigo discutimos como Paulo Freire e o seu legado são expressos através dos memes publicados em redes sociais na internet. Destacamos o sentido político dos memes que são ofensivos a Paulo Freire, descaracterizando sua obra além de insultar a sua pessoa. Trata-se de um ataque à sua concepção de educação popular que sobretudo visam atingir. Constituem ataques à educação da maioria popular que frequenta a escola pública se examinarmos, através do conceito de lutas de classes, a campanha de personalidades, grupos e movimentos de extrema direita contra a influência de Paulo Freire. Os exemplares de memes que utilizamos na nossa pesquisa foram extraídos das redes sociais Facebook e Twitter. Richard Dawkins e sua formulação original sobre os memes foram referências para o artigo.
