O artigo sugere pensar os memes como discursos abertos e colaborativos, capazes de participar da narração da nossa história comum, sublinhando sua potência na criação do pensamento. Memes são discursos (imagens, vídeos, músicas e outras formas de comunicação) que viralizam na internet e despertam o desejo de atualização. Diferente do viral que se assenta basicamente no compartilhamento, o meme demanda ser modificado para se inserir em cada novo ato de compartilhar. Um meme é, pois, um discurso que se adequa aos contextos mais variados, exigindo de quem o compartilha um trabalho de atualização e ressignificação. O texto apresenta aspectos positivos e negativos da memética e aponta para o papel ativo dos usuários na manipulação da linguagem em tela. Reflete sobre a viabilidade de intercâmbios semânticos entre os memes e o fazer científico, indicando que, apesar da aparência de repetição os memes produzem diferença. Reconhece os memes como disparadores de práticas formativas e, para tanto, apresenta como recorte de pesquisa a produção de memes no bojo do golpe de 2016, no Brasil.Downloads
