DOI: 10.12957/periferia.2009.3418O texto mostra o processo de gestação de um novo modo de produção e distribuição cultural na periferia dos grandes centros urbanos, e que redunda em uma mudança de ordem política fora das esferas consensuais em que se pensa a política e o poder. Os casos estudados – os exemplos se referem a experiências e movimentos da periferia do Rio de Janeiro – desenvolvem-se, em geral, fora de qualquer ingerência do mercado ou do Estado; alimentam-se das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação; neles a autonomia dos grupos e processos colaborativos são centrais e devem ser pensados na categoria do “trabalho imaterial” de Negri, Lazzaratto e outros.
