This text originates from the completion of the supervised internship in geography teaching in high school, which was carried out in a public school in the State of Rio de Janeiro, located in the city of Niterói. The questions to be presented in this report emerged through the observation of the school routine in dialogue with the discussions and research proposed by the academic discipline. Therefore, the completion of the internship made it possible to reflect on the condition of teaching work, in addition to understanding the trail of problems and precariousness that teachers face since before entering higher education. Emphasizing that precariousness has not emerged in the new times, on the contrary, it is a project of society, it is up to us, future teachers, teachers and anyone who is concerned with the defense of education,to seek paths that allow dignified conditions for the teaching worker.
