Reunimos neste dossiê artigos que versem sobre a cultura escrita nas suas mais diversificadas manifestações. Os trabalhos em temporalidades e contextos distintos atendem para as diferentes manifestações da cultura escrita, seja focando em manuscritos (panfletos, cartas, diários) ou impressos (periódicos, livros, memórias) e etc. O objetivo é agregar pesquisas concluídas e em desenvolvimento nos programas de pós-graduação, com atenção para as correlações entre a cultura escrita, a política, a cultura e a economia, sob diferentes enfoques teóricos e metodológicos.
