The PIBID/Biology available at Licentiate Degree in Biological Sciences enabled a closer relation between the University and Basic Education, in a way that allowed future teachers to have more effective contact with the professional performance environment, developing their autonomy and personality as teachers. The program allowed the academics in initial formation contact and interaction with the school, while at the same time presented a theoretical contribution to the production of didactic modules. In 2014 the PIBID/Biology worked with the CTS approach, which had as its aim to promote the scientific and technological literacy covering a social theme present in the daily life of the students. As reported by the participants, they had difficulty in working with this approach, but felt happy to promote active learning throughout the construction of knowledge. They also highlighted that the students have become more engaged due to the difference from the traditional methodology. Another important aspect was the choice of the topics "Vaccination against HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)" and "Conservation of food" because these have guided the development of all the didactic modules. Also, despite the difficulties, the topics have enabled students to develop a broad perspective of the work in the teaching of science, as well as to break barriers by making study interdisciplinary.
