Características sociodemográficas e risco para doenças sexualmente transmissíveis entre mulheres atendidas na atenção básica [Sociodemographic characteristics and risk factors for sexually transmitted diseases among women assisted at primary care unit]

RESUMO: Estudo descritivo, retrospectivo, desenvolvido por meio de análise de prontuários de 343 mulheres que realizaram exame ginecológico no período de janeiro de 2009 a junho de 2012, em uma unidade básica de saúde, situada na cidade de São Cristóvão, Sergipe. Os objetivos foram traçar o perfil sociodemográfico dessas mulheres e identificar os fatores de risco para doenças sexualmente transmissíveis. Os dados foram registrados no Excel 2007 e a análise mostrou que estas mulheres se encontravam na faixa etária de 25-59 anos (77,0%), possuíam baixa escolaridade (30,0%), não exerciam atividade remunerada (20,0%). As pacientes que declararam possuir múltiplos parceiros sexuais negaram o uso de preservativo. Conclui-se que a condição sócioeconômica desfavorável associada à não utilização do preservativo expõem essas mulheres ao risco para aquisição de doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, reforçando a necessidade de implementar ações educativas.
ABSTRACT: This descriptive and retrospective study was conducted through the analysis of medical records of 343 women who underwent gynecological examination in a primary attention unit, in São Cristóvão, Sergipe, Brazil, from January, 2009 to June, 2012. It aimed at outlining the sociodemographic profile of those women and at identifying risk factors for sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Data were recorded on the 2007 Excel and analysis showed those women aged 25-59 (77.0%), had low education (30.0%), and did not have a paid job (20.0%). Patients who reported having multiple sexual partners denied the use of condoms. Conclusions show unfavorable socioeconomic condition associated with rejection of condoms make those women vulnerable to STD, and reinforce the need to implement educational activities.
RESUMEN: Estudio descriptivo y retrospectivo desarrollado mediante el análisis de prontuarios de 343 mujeres que se sometieron a examen ginecológico en una unidad de atención básica de salud de São Cristóvão, en Sergipe-Brasil, desde enero de 2009 hasta junio de 2012. Los objetivos fueron delinear el perfil sociodemográfico de esas mujeres e identificar los factores de riesgo para enfermedades sexualmente transmisibles. Los datos fueron registrados en Excel 2007 y el análisis mostró que esas mujeres tenían entre 25-59 años (77,0%), tenían baja escolaridad (30,0%) y que no tenían un trabajo remunerado (20,0%). Las pacientes que reportaron tener aparceros sexuales múltiples negaron usar el condon. Se concluye que la condición socioeconómica desfavorable asociada con el abandono del uso de preservativos exponen esas mujeres al riesgo de contraer Enfermedades Sexualmente Transmisibles, lo que refuerza la necesidad de llevar a cabo actividades educativas.
