Infecção latente de tuberculose: adesão ao tratamento e evolução dos casos [Latent tuberculosis infection: treatment adherence and caseprogress]

O tratamento da Infecção Latente de Tuberculose (ILTB) constitui-se em recurso auxiliar para o controle da tuberculose. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os casos de ILTB atendidos num centro de referência do município de Londrina-PR. Estudo descritivo, quantitativo, cujos dados foram levantados de 110 fichas de notificação de casos de ILTB atendidos nos anos de 2009 e 2010 e complementados em 2012 por meio dos prontuários. Os dados foram tabulados no programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Detectou-se adesão ao tratamento de 46,4% dos pacientes, taxa de abandono de 40,9%; dois casos evoluíram para tuberculose. A adesão foi maior entre indivíduos com 12 anos ou mais de escolaridade (75,0%). O tratamento de ILTB foi indicado para os contatos de casos (35,4%), condições que predispõem à tuberculose (23,5%) e imunossupressão por fármacos (23,5%). Conclui-se pela necessidade de melhor controle da ILTB como medida para eliminação da tuberculose.
ABSTRACT
Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) is an auxiliary resource for control of the active disease. This qualitative, descriptive study examined cases with LTBI treated at a referral center in Londrina, Paraná. Datawere obtained from all 110 notification forms of LTBI cases treated in 2009 and 2010 and supplemented in 2012 by medical records. Data were tabulated using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Treatment adherence was detectedin 46.4% of patients, dropout rate was 40.9%, and two cases developed tuberculosis. Compliance was higher among individuals with 12 or more years’ schooling (75.0%). LTBI treatment was indicated for case contacts (35.4%), predisposing conditions for tuberculosis (23.5%) and drug immunosuppression (23.5%). It was concluded there is a need for improved control of LTBI as a measure for eliminating tuberculosis.
RESUMEN
El tratamiento de la Infección latente de Tuberculosis (ILTB) se constituye en un recurso auxiliar para el control de la tuberculosis. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar los casos con ILTB, atendidos en un Centro de Referencia del municipio de Londrina – Paraná-Brasil. Estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo, cuyos datos fueron recogidos de 110 fichas de notificación de casos de ILTB atendidos en los años de 2009 y 2010, y complementados en 2012 por medio de los prontuarios. Los datos fueron tabulados en el programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Se detectó una adhesión al tratamiento de 46,4% de los pacientes, una tasa de abandono del 40,9% y dos casos evoluyeron para tuberculosis. La adhesión fue mayor entre individuos con 12 años o más de escolaridad (75,0%). El tratamiento de ILTB fue indicado para los contactos de casos (35,4%), condiciones que predisponen a la tuberculosis (23,5%), e inmunosupresión por fármacos (23,5%). Se concluye por la necesidad de mejorar el control de la ILTB como medida para la eliminación de la tuberculosis.
