Impacto de métodos educacionais na alfabetização em saúde bucal de adolescentes brasileiros

Resumo

A avaliação da alfabetização em saúde bucal (ASB) fornece informações que permitem processar e compreender a presença de lacunas no conhecimento básico de saúde dos pacientes. Trata-se de um estudo pré-pós intervenção que avaliou o impacto de abordagens educacionais no nível de ASB de adolescentes de 12 a 14 anos de duas escolas particulares de São Paulo, Brasil. A amostra foi composta por 166 participantes, os quais foram divididos em Grupo 1 (n = 45), assistiram a uma palestra sobre higiene bucal; Grupo 2 (n = 44), jogaram um jogo interativo educativo; Grupo 3 (n = 44), participaram da palestra sobre higiene bucal seguida do jogo interativo; e Grupo 4 (n = 33), não receberam nenhuma intervenção. A ferramenta BREALD-30 mediu a alfabetização inicialmente (T0) e um mês após as intervenções (T1). Os escores de ASB melhoraram nos Grupos 1, 2 e 3 em 7%, 11,2% e 16,4%, respectivamente. O teste de Pearson correlacionou as pontuações médias, e a ANOVA unidirecional mediu a influência de cada método educacional na ASB. O teste de correlação mostrou um coeficiente robusto (r = 0,80) para cada grupo nos tempos analisados. A análise de variância indicou diferenças médias (p < 0,05) para os grupos que receberam intervenções ao comparar T0 e T1. No entanto, nenhuma significância (p > 0,05) ocorreu entre grupos e sexo e entre grupos e séries escolares. As medidas educacionais aumentaram efetivamente as pontuações da ASB, e a palestra seguida do jogo foi a melhor intervenção.

Foi estagiária de Pós-Doutorado na Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade de São Paulo no Departamento de Odontologia Preventiva e Social. Foi Professora Assistente da PUCPR e coordenadora do curso de graduação em Odontologia da Faculdade Herrero. Atuou como pesquisadora colaboradora do Centro Colaborador de Pesquisa em Vigilância em Saúde Bucal da PUCPR/Ministério da Saúde. Atualmente, na Universidade Positivo, é Coordenadora Adjunta e professora permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Odontologia, coordenadora do Programa de Iniciação Científica e Tecnológica, e vice-líder do Grupo de Pesquisa Epidemiologia, Saúde Coletiva e Genética Aplicada. Na graduação em Odontologia atua como professora das disciplinas que envolvem Odontologia em Saúde Coletiva. Tem experiência na área de Odontologia, com ênfase em Saúde Coletiva e em Endodontia. Em 2024 se tornou bolsista produtividade (Fundação Araucária).

Cristina Lúcia Feijó Ortolani, Universidade Paulista

Possui Graduação em Odontologia pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (1984), Mestrado em Odontologia (Diagnóstico Bucal) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1994) e Doutorado em Odontologia (Diagnóstico Bucal) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1997). Atualmente é Professora Titular da Universidade Paulista. Tem experiência na área de Odontologia, com ênfase em Odontologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: dentiçao mista, prevalência, bionator de balters, má oclusão e clínica infantil.
