Abstract

The text addresses the regional importance of production projects, emphasizing the social significance that such projects have for the host regions. This importance is measured by their economic magnitude, value in regional accounts, level of local dependence and number of jobs generated. The main indicator is the total value of annual production in millions of dollars, adjusted by criteria of recoverability and regional importance.

The preservation of tangible cultural assets, such as objects and buildings, is essential and is assessed through scientific research. The loss of these assets is unacceptable and must be avoided or mitigated through inventories and specific recommendations.

The physical-spatial disarticulation caused by projects can affect commercial and social links, in addition to causing the loss of local administrative centers. The proposed indicator assesses the severity of this disarticulation by the number of families affected and the possibility of restoration. Projects can disrupt social relations, especially with the arrival of external populations. The impact is assessed by the ability of communities to respond to new social and spatial conditions.
