In a dive between the poetic and scientific, our invitation in this text is to overturn the notion of rigor and let it sink to the bottom of the sea because what it is really good is to be underwater. Without the intention of defining once and for all what rigor would be in research in education, our text works as a wet exercise, a three-part writing, that makes this notion so dear to scientific practice bubble and experiments with it in search of a displacement attentive to the process and not so much as something a priori. Accompanied by different authors and languages involved with the openness to a differential thought, we bet on an experimentation with writing and research that here also involves the notion of rigor and to this end, we dive into three movements: the essay as an operation, the fragment as a displacement of writing and the montage as a composition procedure; as a certain way of keeping ourselves in the fall so that rigor and vigor confuse themselves.
