Abstract

Our interviewee is Sandra Rabello de Frias, a social worker with a consolidated career in the field of aging, social gerontology, and the defense of the rights of older people. A doctoral candidate in Social Work at the Postgraduate Program in Social Work at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGSS/UERJ), she holds a Master's degree in Psychoanalysis, Health and Society from Veiga de Almeida University (UVA/RJ) and a specialization in Gerontology from the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SBGG). She works as Extension Coordinator at the Human Aging Center (NUCEH/UERJ), where she develops projects and courses focused on aging and caregiver training. Throughout her career, she has also worked in management and social control, having chaired the State Council for the Defense of the Rights of Older People of Rio de Janeiro and been a member of the National Council for the Rights of Older People, making a significant contribution to strengthening public policies and the human rights agenda aimed at the elderly population.
