Social work at CREAS and its interface with socio-legal issues

Abstract

This article presents the study of socio-educational services at the interface between the Social Assistance Policy and the socio-legal field resulting from professional practice in the Social Protection Service for adolescents, fulfilling socio-educational measures in an open environment. The methodological support used was exploratory and documentary bibliographical research supported by a theoretical-critical framework to understand the particularities of the object. Thus, the text presents the systematization of the social worker's professional practice in a multidisciplinary team, the fragility of social protection in public policies, the context of violence and lack of guaranteed rights for teenagers and young Brazilians. These are the challenges posed to the category in making a viable professional ethical-political project, since this problem is one of the expressions of growing social inequality in Brazil.
