Abstract

The main objective of this article is to reflect on the main determinants that lead to the return of children and adolescents who were adopted in Brazil. This is a bibliographical research, anchored in dialectical historical materialism, carried out using Scielo and Google Scholar. The main results reveal the challenges surrounding the return, which are highlighted in this article around the main reasons for the return by parents after the adoption is finalized, essentially linked to behavioral and racial motivations and the fragility of bonds. As well as the most returned profiles, being: black, children considered older and adolescents, with some disability and those who have siblings.
