Abstract

This article analyzes the educational and health experiences of Mexican women who experienced teenage pregnancy during and after the pandemic, aiming to identify relevant aspects for the prevention of unplanned pregnancies in future health emergencies. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with six women who became pregnant between 2019 and 2023. Their testimonies revealed significant difficulties in accessing and participating in online classes, as well as a perception of insufficient support and interest from the educational community. In the health field, participants expressed fear of attending medical appointments during pregnancy due to the risk of COVID-19 infection. They also indicated that the mandatory use of masks during childbirth made breathing and labor difficult. The results highlight educational and health barriers relevant to the care and prevention of teenage pregnancy in the context of health emergencies.
