Abstract

This study analyzes the incorporation of digital technologies in addressing domestic and family violence against women in Brazil, with an emphasis on urgent protective measures. It is grounded in the understanding that gender-based violence reflects structural inequalities and requires coordinated responses involving the justice system, public security, social services, healthcare, and specialized support networks. The research employs a qualitative, documentary, and socio-legal approach based on a literature review, normative analysis, and an examination of three institutional initiatives: Maria da Penha Virtual, Projeto Violeta, and electronic monitoring with georeferencing. The results indicate that the digitalization of protective measures in Brazil is structured less around replacing human decision-making with artificial intelligence and more around sociotechnical support arrangements aimed at expanding access, accelerating procedures, and enabling preventive monitoring. The study concludes that such tools can strengthen protection, provided they are subject to democratic governance, human oversight, data protection, and a gender perspective.
