The article aims to contribute to the mapping of disputes around the regulation of
remote work in contemporary Brazil, in a context in which the social distance caused by
the Covid-19 pandemic gave rise to the adoption of this type of work to gain greater
importance. We seek to understand what labor claims emerged as a result of the
adoption of remote work, the changes promoted within the scope of Labor Law due to
social distancing measures during the pandemic and, in particular, how new
arrangements were implemented in collective bargaining regarding work remote in the
states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. What normativity results from the heteronomous
and autonomous rules adopted in the exceptional pandemic period? The research
findings and the problematization of the rules arising from provisional measures and
collective bargaining on remote work highlight the limits and trends of the regulation
that emerges in the context of a health calamity.
