Resumo

Este artigo destina-se a analisar o desenvolvimento e as funções do conceito de transfeminicídio como uma categoria jurídico-sociológica. Surgido a partir do movimento transfeminista, a aplicação do conceito de feminicídio para explicar os crimes violentos letais intencionais contra travestis e mulheres transexuais é hoje um relevante instrumento de análise desse fenômeno, útil para localizar as demandas do movimento transgênero.

Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the development and the functions of the concept of transfeminicide as a legal and sociological category. Having appeared within the transfeminist movement, the adoption of the concept of transfeminicide, in order to explain violent lethal crimes against transvestites and trans women, is currently a relevant analytical instrument for reflecting upon this phenomenon, especially useful to locate the demands of the transgender movement.
