Abstract

Teacher training has been guided by Resolution No. 4 of 2024 and endorsed by the
new ENADE. The latter revives the practicalism evoked in the BNC-Formação (2019), which,
from a legal standpoint, was repealed by Resolution 4/2024. The focus of our analysis is the
new guidelines governing teacher training, as previously mentioned. Our objective is to
expose the farce and tragedy in the discourse of "quality" attributed to these teacher training
reforms, highlighting the elements within these guidelines that contribute to
the precarization of educational training as a whole. To this end, we seek to understand the
conceptions of training embedded in these guidelines, as well as the notion of "quality" they
promote. Upon analyzing the proclaimed "quality" in these resolutions, we observe an
antagonism between the concrete, material quality we advocate and the abstract, idealistic
quality present in the documents. We thus demonstrate that the conceptions of "quality"
defined in these policies are diametrically opposed to the emancipatory human formation we
believe in and defend. Our analysis is grounded in Marxist educational principles, represented
by Historical-Critical Pedagogy, with the aim of radical societal transformation.
