This article proposes that we carry out the Sankofa movement, which is part of an ancestral wisdom of the Akan people, mainly from the Ashanti empire, who lived on the West coast of the African continent, but precisely in what is today Togo, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso. Sankofa is a symbol of resistance, whose African origin was brought to Brazil in colonial times, when black people were made slaves. The etymology of the word, in Ghana, includes the terms san (to return, return), ko (to go) and fa (to look, seek and take). This movement proposes a return to the past, to return to our roots, to bring the necessary wisdom to continue the journey. From this afroperspective, this article intends to seek a new way of experiencing reality, so that through learning to look at the past, we can reflect on new possibilities of action in the present, daring to build alternatives for the future. Propose the Sankofa movement as a possibility of (re)recognizing, in ancestral knowledge, forgotten or silenced potentialities, which can contribute to the continuity of our journey, proposing new possibilities of being, existing and acting in the world. Therefore, we will use the texts studied in the PROFEPT Conceptual Bases discipline to understand the social construction of work and education in Brazil, based on an economy based on dependent capitalism. I will carry out a parallel to these studies from an Afroperspective, which brings elements of ancestral knowledge to rethink the social metabolism of capital, with a view to building a new social metabolism.
