This article explores the intersection between gender and urbanism, highlighting the marginalization faced by women in urban spaces, exacerbated by a predatory capitalist system. It is argued that, despite the growing recognition of environmental and territorial impacts on humanity, especially in urban areas, where 68% of the world's population is expected to reside by 2050, women continue to experience the city more as a space of survival than than experience. The research, based on a qualitative and exploratory approach, is based on a bibliographic and documentary review to examine gender inequality in the appropriation, planning, construction and governance of natural and built environments, proposing that ecofeminism can offer a valuable perspective for the planning more inclusive urban spaces. By prioritizing feminist epistemologies, the study not only transcends academic knowledge production, but also engages politically to challenge the perception of women's issues as isolated niches. It is concluded that the management of urban spaces often reflects strategies of control and oppression, especially against marginalized lives, perpetuating systems of patriarchal and capitalist domination. Therefore, the importance of women as active agents of change in creating inclusive and sustainable solutions for the cities of the future, through public governance, is recognized
