ENCUADRANDO A LA PROTESTA SOCIAL: UNA COMPARACIÓN ENTRE LA COBERTURA DE LOS GRANDES MEDIOS DE COMUNICACIÓN Y DEL MEDIA ACTIVISMO

Este artículo analiza la cobertura de las protestas en contra del Mundial de Fútbol del 2014, en Brasil, realizada por un gran medio informativo brasileño (G1) y de un medio activista (A Nova Democracia), en la red social Facebook. Partiendo de una breve revisión de literatura sobre el paradigma mediático de la cobertura de la protesta social y utilizándose de datos colectados en Facebook, analiza cómo cada uno de estos medios encuadró a las protestas del período. El estudio concluye que se confirma la utilización de un paradigma mediático negativo para narrar las manifestaciones sociales por este gran medio informativo; mientras en el medio activista predomina un enfoque positivo de las protestas. Entretanto, también revela que los dos medios han privilegiado la narrativa de la violencia para tratar a los sucesos del período.References
