MICROPOLITICS OF THE BODY AND THE BECOMING-DANCER

Abstract

This text intends to be a contribution to think a micropolitics of the body, taking it in its sensible aspect, opened to multiple experimentations. To debate this aspect of the body, the sensible one, we are associated with Deleuze and Guattari in order to argue the current situation of capitalism from two of its characteristics: its trend to transform everything into merchandise and its capture of flows of the body. From the action of these two forces appears an intense production of new perceptions and new desires are imposed to the body. Here we are concerned to ask: can the body escape  this production? In resonance with Foucault we reach the body in its materiality. In its flesh, the body is a space of openness to other possibilities, to other spaces, it is utopian. The body is the zero point, it is a space of intercrossing, it is a small utopian core from which “becomings” derive. The body has no place, but it is on it that all possible spaces happen. The body is a wrapping, but it is the wrapping of the infinite. The body understood as the infinite space is a vacuum-source that contains in itself all virtuality. We approach the dance as a practical aesthetic-politics of the minority condition of the body, where it is possible to make clear and engender in the body a becoming-dancer.
