Abstract

The objective of this work is to present reflections involving the debate on what is known as people management in the world of organizations, and the constitution of the area of knowledge as a theoretical field and a social practice which, historically, was consolidated based on a rational, objective, and normative view of individuals in organizations. The article therefore constitutes a theoretical assay, the main support of which is to present concepts, arguments and authors that have sought to define more precisely the scopes of organizational studies, based on critical studies involving the discourse on people management. It seeks to understand the theoretical formulations, investigating the concepts of people management in the scope of organizational studies, based on epistemological reflections.

Key words: People Management – Organization – Epistemology
