Abstract

This article presents the experience of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas of Bogotá D.C. - Colombia, hereinafter UDFJC, for the consolidation, in April 2023, of the Institutional Policy for Inclusive and Accessible Higher Education. There will be a recount of the academic and investigative actions carried out in the different units of the UDFJC, their achievements, and the challenges they face. Among these actions, the IV version of the International Congress of the Interdisciplinary Group for Research in Education and Inclusion (GIEI): A Global Commitment stands out. The exchange of knowledge, approaches, experiences, research results, and practices in relation to education and inclusion at a global level was achieved. In addition, the consolidation of inter-institutional links for the exchange and dissemination of actions and strategies to base the culture of inclusion in the institution.

The reflection and projection of the challenges within the university community are the basis of the Institutional Policy for Inclusive and Accessible Higher Education, which implies thinking about an education that enables the elimination of all kinds of barriers, both psychological, physical, social, cultural, and attitudinal. To promote the process of personal and professional development of students.

Caldas en la Facultad de Ciencias y Educación, docente en la Licenciatura en
Matemáticas y coordinadora del Módulo Apoya del Centro Acacia de la UDFJC.
Tiene amplia experiencia, investigaciones y escritos en la formación de profesores
y en educación inclusiva en educación superior.
