Abstract

This article aims to analyze how postcolonialism, gender relations and intersectionality theory are configured in the short story "Replica", from the collection On Your Neck (2017), written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The objective is to understand the adversities faced by the protagonist as a black woman in a racist and sexist society, under the lens of postcolonial theory, feminist criticism and the intersectional perspective, discussed by Bonnici (2009), Hall (1997), Spivak (1985), Davis (2016, 2017), Ashcroft (2001), Akotirene (2018) and Collins and Bilge (2021).

Geovani Augusto Nunes, Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)

Doutorando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM). Pesquisador do campo da Literatura Infantil e Juvenil (LIJ), investiga as intersecções entre Afrofuturismo, estética e política na construção da identidade juvenil negra. Desenvolve estudos focados em representatividade e justiça imaginativa no sistema literário brasileiro, com ênfase na formação do leitor e nas relações étnico-raciais.
