Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the health authorities’ guidelines for social distancing, several activities have been reconfigured and started to take place virtually. This study is built upon the activities carried out in a educator’s film club in the northwest region of the city of São Paulo, whose participation/interaction, which previously took place in person, was adapted to the virtual environment during the pandemic. In this context, we seek to understand through multimodal analysis how the virtual film club contributes to the involvement of its members. The methodology was organized through the analysis of the multimodal resources available in the Zoom app. The results point to the importance of understanding the composition of multimodal resources in the transformation of realities in educational environments.
