Climate emergencies represent one of the greatest contemporary socio-environmental challenges, requiring educational approaches that promote awareness in the school community. Thus, this article aims to socialize and discuss the results of a pedagogical intervention project focused on socio-environmental dialogue with basic education students in the city of Bayeux, state of Paraíba. To carry out the project, bibliographical and documentary research was conducted, in addition to interactive classes, debates and field activities, focusing on local environmental issues, such as the degradation of mangroves and the impacts of climate change. The results demonstrate that the students acted actively, extrapolating their learning beyond the school walls, understanding the socio-environmental reality of the local community. It is concluded that the initiative contributed significantly and successfully to expanding the debate on climate emergencies, reinforcing the importance of environmental education in the school context and allowing sustainable reflections for life.
