In 2024, marking the 60th anniversary of the 1964 coup in Brazil, Revista Maracanan pays tribute to historians who are experts in the period. In its "Special Section", researchers from several universities are invited to answer questions about the historical and historiographical legacy of the coup, the status of the dictatorship's archives, the dismantling of "Transitional Justice" initiatives after 2016, and teaching about the dictatorship. It also addresses the relationship between the dictatorial past and the current militarization in Brazil.
