Abstract

O artigo em questão trata sobre a imigração italiana na Amazônia e no nordeste brasileiros, entre os séculos XIX e XX, identificando algumas cadeias migratórias provenientes das províncias italianas de Salerno, Potenza e Cosenza, atraídas pelo ápice do ciclo da borracha e pelo crescimento das cidades nordestinas, onde iriam praticar predominantemente atividades comerciais e misters artesanais.  Esta imigração foi seguida pela presença de arquitetos, construtores e artistas italianos, os quais deixaram uma marca inconfundível nas áreas de arquitetura, urbanística e artes.
