The article presents the collection “Human Earth”, from the French publisher Plon, directed by Jean Malaurie, for about sixty years. The text understands the collection as a “scientific library”, typical of French cultural ambience, in which the personality of its director played a clear role for achieving its success, due to his ability to establish relations in the political and media world. “Human Earth” is also presented as the finest showcase of Brazil in European academia, through seven volumes on Brazilian affairs inserted in the collection.Downloads
