As cartas de Amarna e as relações internacionais no Egito do final da XVIII Dinastia

Os antigos egípcios mantiveram, durante toda a sua história, contato com seus vizinhos, fossem estes comerciais ou diplomáticos. Durante o Reino Novo (c. 1550-1070 a.C.) e, especialmente, no final da XVIII Dinastia, tais relações são muito bem documentadas. Neste artigo analisamos um pequeno corpus de parte de uma correspondência diplomática, as Cartas de Amarna, buscando mostrar a maneira como o Egito mantinha sua supremacia sobre as nações vizinhas, com ênfase no grupo de mensagens que se caracteriza como correspondência trocada com os estados aliados.
