Abstract

This paper aims to share experiences and to relate the first results of a university extension project created in 2022: Núcleo de Pesquisa e Extensão em Literatura, Leitura e Intermidialidade (NuPELLI - FFP/ UERJ). Turned to extensionist actions from the literary perspective of Intermediality (Rajewsly, 2012), NuPELLI seeks to analyze and spread the multiple connections between different medias inside their dialogue with Literature. Among our activities, which we call Cesta/Sexta Intermídia, we bring to the public inside and outside the University, several Intermedial practices, productions and reflections in our YouTube channel. We will restrain ourselves, in this work, in the third edition that occurred in March 2023: the one that brings the presence and the works of young plastic artist Jefferson Medeiros, born in São Gonçalo and former student of FFP/UERJ, currently… This choice is justified by the facts that Medeiros’ graduation is in the same university that our team of project volunteers study, the representativity of his works in social media and in the city of São Gonçalo and he intermediate composition in his art, which we will bring some examples. Since we also got tied to the post-colonial perspective and the realities of many Brazilian peripheries that Jefferson Medeiros’ work alludes to, we understood that the dialogue between arts, as well as the wide access to them, are essential experiences for the formation of a critical and socially active individual.
