Interview with Pierre-Antoine Fabre: academic background, intellectual production and research projects

Abstract

In this interview, Pierre-Antoine Fabre talks about his academic career, positioning himself as
an intellectual who has produced important works and also as a manager of important
projects, institutions and co-founder of the International Society for Jesuit Studies (SIEJ).
Throughout his presentation, he points out the influences he has had on his career and which
have had a varied impact on his own conception of history. He also highlights the relevance of
the theme of religiosity in his research and works, indicating how much remains to be done in
terms of analysis of this theme and of the Society of Jesus. Pierre-Antonie Fabre closes the
interview by talking about his future projects, pointing out that he has been involved in studies
on the “Edificant Letters”, translating the sermons of Father Antonio Vieira, the Christian
interpretation of Noah's Ark and, above all, analyzing the idea of holiness in modern and
contemporary Catholicism.
