Author Guidelines

  1. The Periferia Journal publishes original and unpublished articles related to the fields of Education, Culture, and Communication, considering the journal's editorial line, treatment of the topic, consistency, and rigor. Articles must be submitted exclusively to this journal and must be unpublished.

  2. Works falling into the following categories will be considered for publication: theoretical studies, research, essays, interviews, and reviews.

  3. To submit a work, the author needs to register in the system. There are no costs for authors.

  4. Works should be submitted via the Electronic Journal Publishing System (SEER), which will subject them to the judgment of the Editorial Board to verify compliance with the journal's editorial policy and fulfillment of regulatory requirements indicated in the Submission Template.

  5. Submitted works will be reviewed by members of the Editorial Committee and/or by the body of reviewers or ad hoc consultants, anonymously. The names of evaluators and authors will be kept confidential (blind review).

  6. The Journal, through the scientific editor or managing editor, will notify the corresponding author whether the article has been approved for publication or rejected. The notification will be accompanied by a copy of the content of the reviews, without identifying the evaluators.

  7. The editorial committee reserves the right not to publish and accept submissions of articles by the same author within intervals of less than two years.

  8. Article texts should have a length between 30,000 to 50,000 characters (including spaces), excluding the abstract, abstract, and references.

  9. Review texts should have a maximum of 10,000 characters. This production should present a commentary on a current work or a re-release of a classic in the field of Education, Culture, and Communication. The author should situate the field to which the work belongs, present the main ideas of the author, and provide a critical appreciation, referring to its contribution to the theoretical and practical context of Education, Culture, and Communication. It should contain all the bibliographic information intended for the identification of the commented work, as well as the cover image of the book, digitized in ".jpg" format [200dpi].

  10. Manuscripts should preferably be written in Portuguese, Spanish, or English, with a maximum of 3 authors (at least one with completed stricto sensu postgraduate).

  11. The author(s) name(s) should NOT be included in the submitted file. They must be included, in full, through the metadata forms, carefully filling in all the requested information. Authors should provide a complete email for publication in the article and academic and professional credits in the Biography field.

  12. The manuscripts should be electronically submitted through SEER. The text must necessarily use the template provided for download on the page header and be typed in Microsoft Word editor.

  13. The file cannot exceed the limit of 2Mb.

  14. The texts should be written clearly and fluently. Footnotes should be used for explanatory information only. Authors should avoid using references that could identify them in the evaluation process.

  15. The evaluation of manuscripts will be based on several criteria, including relevance, innovativeness, theoretical and methodological structure, and contribution to the field.

  16. After acceptance for publication, authors must submit a Publication Authorization and a Declaration of responsibility and copyright transfer.

  17. The final version of the text approved for publication must undergo spelling and grammatical revision.

  18. To ensure the efficiency of the evaluation process, the Periferia Journal appreciates authors who can indicate two doctoral professors who can contribute to the evaluation of other manuscripts at the time of submission.

  19. Authors, meeting editorial conditions, are expected to volunteer to evaluate at least one manuscript from the journal, regardless of the outcome of the evaluation process for their submission.

  20. Authors and co-authors of articles and reviews published in the Journal will be allowed one publication every 2 years.

  21. References: They should come at the end of the work, in alphabetical order by the author's last name in uppercase, according to the NBR 6023/2018 standard of ABNT.
