Studies on the worlds of work, produced in Brazil, have undergone significant transformations in recent years. One of the most significant is that the investigations include, mainly from the 2000s, the enslaved as a fundamental part of the history of Brazilian work. In this sense, the research emphasized the importance of questioning the formation of the working class in our country as being composed only of free white men, mostly white workers, and points to the need to also analyze the relations between free workers and as well as the forms of organization and manifestation of these.
