Abstract

This work brings reflections on the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality developed in the municipality of Aperibé/RJ. Methodologically, we used bibliographical research. As the research progressed, we concluded that, until then, no previous work had been carried out in this regard on the municipality of Aperibé/RJ. Thus, this entire investigation seeks to bring initial references and questions that may echo the EJA projects developed in each educational institution in the municipality, whether in the municipal network or in the state network. We also consulted the collection of the Casa de Cultura de Aperibé, in which the memories of the foundation and history of the city were rescued. We bring reflections on EJA that unfold from these memories and reveal pulsating daily challenges in the history of the municipality. This article seeks to think about the human being from education, to think about education from the EJA and to think about EJA as a reflection of social structures, as a modality that can be configured in a network of cooperative relationships between individuals in order to change the functioning of the society in which they live. People who, for this, seek to expand their own knowledge, which will only be possible if we respect the subject as the protagonist in this action.
