Abstract

What if dancing were a form of philosophizing? Who or what thinks and who or what moves? The following work is a kind of performance/text in which we bring reflections of a danced philosophy learned with feet on the ground, to the sound of berimbaus, pandeiros, atabaques and in community life. We also present the questions, the uncertainties and the crossroads between which we have been swinging in the search for an artistic process focused on dance, but which transcends it. We strolled among poets and philosophers from a wide variety of places, reading the philosophies danced in capoeira rodas, samba rodas, huaynos, chacareras and tinkus. So we move on with the question: What are the dances and philosophies that make up our artistic, academic, community and, in short, life work? We're not looking for answers; asking is the path we've chosen. We want to invite you to dance with us in this spiral of letters, movements, gestures, smells, tastes, colors and sensations that has enabled us to co-create what we call telluric poetics.
